Test Obama-IV
As indicated in his landmark speech in Prague on 4 March 2009, Barack Obama has decided to eliminate nuclear weapons. His speech suggests that the United States will seek U.S. ratification of the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty (CTBT), which was signed by Bill Clinton but never passed by the Senate. On the other side of the Pacific Ocean, there is different concern that Obama should consider. On 7 April 2009, Sakamoto Goji, a senior LDP member in Japan shouted, “We (Japan) should deal with this issue (North Korea’s launched satellite on April 5) with a recognition that Japan needs to possess nuclear weapons (Japan Times).” Will Obama allow Japan to have the nuclear weapons?
