The “Multi-Partner World” by Hillary Clinton

On 15 July 2009, Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, delivered an American foreign policy speech at the Council on Foreign Relations. About half-hour speech has been provided major foreign policy of Obama Administration. “America will always be a world leader as long as we remain true to our ideals and embrace strategies that match the times. So we will exercise American leadership to build partnerships and solve problems that no nation can solve on its own, and we will pursue policies to mobilize more partners and deliver results (U.S. Department of State).” Clinton emphasized the multi-partner world, which both Colin Powell and Condoleezza Rice tried to execute during Bush Administration, but had never succeeded. Interestingly, Hillary Clinton’s speech mentioned a number of countries including Japan and China, even Liberia or Ghana. However, she had never stated one nation name – U.K. Unlike George W. Bush, Barack Obama does not like U.K. very much. Why? There is no ally forever. Japan should take the notice from Clinton’s speech.
