My expertise is on China’s political economy, social and environmental issues as well as overseas Chinese. I have done extensive research in the areas of ethnic business, gender and ethnic communities, and transnational business networks in the United States. Since 2000, my study mainly focuses on globalization and high-tech industry in China, especially Beijing’s Zhongguancun region.
I have thoughts on China, western perceptions on China, overseas Chinese perception on China, etc. By writing my book and teach in an undergraduate setting, I have learned the importance of speaking to an educated, but general audience.
I would certainly like more communication with others. Geography is a small specialized field, so more contact with people in other discipline would be helpful
